For probably 15 years, I didn't even like to use the word God as it was layered with so many outdated understandings, from the vindictive Old Testament God to the heavily masculine skew of so many traditional religions to the transcendental myth of God as fundamentally above and beyond this world.
I believe, though, it's now time for us to reclaim the term, moving into a wider, more global, holistic, masculine-feminine balanced perspective on this holiest of words that describes the ultimate mystery - the living sentience of the universe that somehow is suffused with unconditional love.
As my own experiences have deepened, I marvel at how that vast living, breathing presence is alive in each of us. Indeed, mystics the world over have claimed that our very soul is a spark of that same fire.
This week we have a special call event on Wednesday that explores this next evolution in our understanding of God. It features one of the true pioneers of this new understanding, which is born of direct mystical knowledge, where you go beyond conceptual understandings to a full-body knowing of the divine truth that you are in God, God is in you, and you are a sacred expression of that cosmic intelligence.
It's now time for this not to be just the experience of a handful of mystics but the inheritance of all of us.
He will be helping to take us beyond metaphysics to the next level of direct experiential knowing during our special free call event this week (which also includes messages from Michael Bernard Beckwith, Barbara Marx Hubbard, and James Trapp.)
You can register here: The Leading Edge of New Thought: How to Know God and Create Heaven on Earth.
On the other side of traditional notions, he will show you how we are evolving into seeing God as more universal, and omni-present, both transcendent to this world and immanent in every being.
God is both out there and within us. In truth, you are in God, God is in you, and we are all aspects of God. Jesus offered this insight by saying "I am in my Father, ye are in me, and I in you."
The truth of our divine identity and oneness is both liberating and radical. As it sinks into the roots of our being, it gives us the foundation for building a wholly new kind of world, one in which war and violence are eventually banished to the past.
When we plug into the higher truth, it is like we are plugging into a larger electrical grid: you have more power, energy, enthusiasm, passion, wisdom, and knowledge about how to navigate life's challenges.
If you're intrigued to go beyond second-hand truths and hand-me-down metaphysics, I encourage you to attend this call.
He represents the leading edge of New Thought, with cosmic understanding and his feet solidly on the ground, engaged in real social impact in his Detroit congregation.
